Swiss Life Asset Managers has entered a strategic joint venture by taking a minority ownership stake in True North Management Ltd., a real-estate investment manager co-founded by CEO Jill Ju and Dr Ingo Holz. The partnership leverages True North's expertise in developing high-quality living and hospitality spaces and supports Swiss Life Asset Managers' strategy to diversify and grow its investment portfolio in the UK living sector.
True North Management, established in 2021, proved its model with its first flexible-living project, Holm Wimbledon Park in London, which reached a 99% occupancy rate. The company has since acquired a second central London asset, offering the potential to create another flexible-living space in the city centre.
Flexible living is a relatively new asset class appealing to people who prioritise convenience, flexibility, quality of living, and community. Like other residential living assets, it can hedge inflation and generate stable long-term income for institutional investors.
The collaboration supports Swiss Life Asset Managers' wider strategy to build an industry-leading living platform that delivers value and innovation for both investors and customers.
"The flexible-living sector presents an exciting opportunity within the real estate market," said Per Erikson, Head of Real Estate at Swiss Life Asset Managers.
"Both organisations share a purpose of enabling people and thinking long-term," said Jill Ju, founder and CEO of True North Management.
